Setup application in Appboy

There are various details from your setup with Appboy that you will need in order to populate fields on the App Studio application build form. Instructions on how to obtain this information is found below

  1. Choose 'Developer Console' from the left menu on the Appboy Dashboard
  2. Copy the "App Group Identifier" from Appboy to the 'App Group ID' field in Settings > Notifications > Appboy for your publication in the App Studio Portal
  3. Choose 'Manage App Group' from the left menu on the Appboy Dashboard
  4. Click to highlight your iOS app, if applicable, and copy the "API key" from Appboy to the 'iOS API Key' field in Settings > Notifications > Appboy for your publication in the App Studio Portal
  5. Repeat step 4, if applicable, for your Android app in order to obtain the 'Android API Key'
  6. Choose 'Segments' from the left menu on the Appboy Dashboard and ensure you are in the 'Segments' tab
    ## For the iOS Segment ID field in Settings > Notifications > Appboy for your publication in the App Studio Portal: click on 'All iOS' and scroll down to find and copy the 'Segment API Identifier'
    1. For the Android Segment ID field in Settings > Notifications > Appboy for your publication in the App Studio Portal: click on 'All Android' and scroll down to find and copy the 'Segment API Identifier'
    2. For the All Devices Segment ID field in Settings > Notifications > Appboy for your publication in the App Studio Portal: set up an All devices segment in Appboy as follows:
      1. In the 'New Segment Name' field type your new segment name eg 'All devices' and hit 'Create!'
      2. Under 'Apps used' deselect 'Include users from all apps', check the boxes for all of your apps and hit 'Save'
      3. Scroll down to copy and find the 'Segment API Identifier' and paste it into the All Devices Segment ID field in Settings > Notifications > Appboy for your publication in the App Studio Portal. Note that you may need to refresh the page in order for the ID to appear
  7. Android only: 'GCM sender ID' - go to https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/2663268?hl=en and follow steps to find the number to enter in the GCM sender ID field in Settings > Notifications > Appboy for your publication in the App Studio Portal
